Hi! My name is Mariona, nice to meet you.

I am an Engineer and Innovator from Barcelona (ESP), based in London (UK). I have worked both as a scientific and as a design researcher, in an academic and an industrial context. In my free time I enjoy music, film, reading and crochet!

I studied Biomedical Engineering at Universitat de Barcelona (2014-2018), and went on to work as a researcher in the Neuroimaging laboratory of Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, where I followed up on my dissertation about ML methods in Alzheimer’s diagnosis and co-authored a paper.

I transitioned to design through a multidisciplinary masters degree - In my practice as a designer, I draw inspiration from the human, both in terms of behaviour and biology: I am particularly interested in the brain and the workings of the body as a machine.

My goal is to be amongst those who design technology that adapts to humans, rather than the opposite.
